Sometimes a ham just isn't a ham unless you have cooked it yourself! [more...]

For many years our most popular ham, the Wiltshire is traditionally cured by immersion in brine for several days, which gives it a wonderfully moist (but never wet!) texture. The addition of unrefined brown sugar to the recipe adds a subtle sweetness to this mild but delicious ham.

If you haven't got a cooking vessel big enough please use the optional cooking bag. Instructions on how to use this along with useful tips on how to store, carve and glaze your ham come in the free instruction booklet included with every ham.

Remove packaging To Boil: Place ham in a large saucepan and cover with cold water, bring slowly to the boil and simmer for approximately 25 minutes per pound (500g). Unless you want to serve it hot, let it cool in the boiling water. To Bake: We recommend simmering for 20 minutes per pound, followed by baking baking at 190°C/170°C Fan/Gas mk 5.
