Half Bone-In Wiltshire Ham (Uncooked)

Net Weight: 3.3kg min.

Servings: 15+

Product Code: WUHB

Sometimes a ham just isn't a ham unless you have cooked it yourself! [more...]

For many years our most popular ham, the Wiltshire is traditionally cured by immersion in brine for several days, which gives it a wonderfully moist (but never wet!) texture. The addition of unrefined brown sugar to the recipe adds a subtle sweetness to this mild but delicious ham.

If you haven't got a cooking vessel big enough please use the optional cooking bag. Instructions on how to use this along with useful tips on how to store, carve and glaze your ham come in the free instruction booklet included with every ham.

Remove packaging To Boil: Place ham in a large saucepan and cover with cold water, bring slowly to the boil and simmer for approximately 25 minutes per pound (500g). Unless you want to serve it hot, let it cool in the boiling water. To Bake: We recommend simmering for 20 minutes per pound, followed by baking baking at 190°C/170°C Fan/Gas mk 5.

Keep refrigerated between 0-5°C. Consume within 5 days of opening. Suitable for freezing

Very tasty. As I did not receive the bone-in ham I had ordered so cannot comment fully. Found it a little tricky to carve.

Bought this to cook and freeze for Christmas, I've done this in the past and it helps to have one less thing to cook. Tastes fabulous as we had some for dinner the night I cooked it. When it's defrosted it the taste and texture is as good as when it was first cooked.

The ham was of excellent quality which I boiled for 20 mins per lb as recommended, left overnight to cool and then baked for about 12 mins per lb at 190C with a honey and mustard glaze. Resulting ham was delicious. I would without reservation recommend the company and the product to anyone looking to buy the same.

This seems to be the second review for some reason. Once again it was an excellent product and delivered well packed and cooled in record time. Everybody commented on how good it tasted and I will buying again.
