Jonny Crickmore imported his herd of red and white Montbeliarde cows from small French alpine farms, and they now graze the lush meadows of Stow Fen where Jonny makes this fabulous cheese in small batches from raw milk still warm from the morning’s milking. [more...]

One of only a handful of its type to be made by the farmer on the farm, the delicious result is the only traditional raw milk Brie-de-Meaux style cheese produced in the UK. The cheese has a smooth, delicate and silky texture and complex, long lasting flavours that bounce around the mouth.

Baron Bigod is not suitable for vegetarians.

I love this cheese even though it is very mild. It has a lovely, subtle, creamy taste.

OK, but rather flavourless (not nearly as good as when we've had it before from other suppliers).

Surely a Duke of cheese and not just a 'Baron'. I served this to guests recently and everyone thought it was spectacular.

Somewhat disappointing. I expected more from the catalogue description and from an unpasteurised cheese

I shared thiswith friends who remember the Brie of the 1970s and 1980sbefore it was bland. It had no chance of reaching its use by date and was perfect to eat on the day it arrived. Please congratulate the makers.
